Video clips.

To view the video clips you need Real player or Windows media player to be installed on your computer. Click here to download the free Real player. Click here to download the free Windows media player. If your computer is running under Windows, then the Windows media player might already be installed.

Video clips are huge files which could take much time to download. To keep the time needed for downloading short, I try to make the video clips not larger then 5 Mb. Most video clips are between 2 and 3 Mb. However from some video clips I have bigger files, which are of a better quality. It is up to you which one to download. If you do have a fast internet connection I recommend the bigger ones.

I also choose not to have a video played while being downloaded, streaming, since this may cause erratic playback with visitors with slow internet connections. When the video clip of your choice is downloaded, it will playback directly from your computer in to Real player, windows media player. This guaranties a good quality, as long as your computer is set up right.

All the online video clips on my website are originally shot on DV (Digital Video). This is a higher quality then dvd. However to download a video clip in this format will take a day. Compression to AVI quality is an option, but these files are still kind of huge.

I have chosen to use the Real video format for my first video clips. However I found out that many people use the Windows media player, so from now on I also include Windows media player video clips.

The Real video clips are made with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, web server setting HTTP, and target audience 256 K DSL/Cable. This should be an acceptable setting for both slow and fast internet users.

The "medium quality" Windows media player clips are made with almost the same settings as the Real video clips. The "high quality" Windows media player clips are made with a resolution of 720 x 480 pixels. Be aware these are huge files!
